What is Crossfit?


CrossFit is an evidence based fitness program. We define fitness as increased work capacity across broad time and modal domains. Capacity is the ability to do real work, which should be measurable. Life is unpredictable (much more so than sport), so real world fitness must be broad and not specialized. Our workouts are designed to maximize this broad, inclusive fitness.


Crossfit Terre Haute is not a typical gym—in fact; it’s more like an athletic team. Our workouts are incredibly tough competitive events that require perseverance and endurance. CrossFit is not for everyone. The people who succeed in our program are people who are willing to train hard to achieve life changing results.
Each workout is organized into a team practice. The team will stretch together, warm up together, practice skills and finally workout together. The camaraderie and energy are palpable during the workout.  Whatever you can do on your own, you'll do significantly better in this type of atmosphere. Even while you’re doing the most difficult workout you think you have ever done, you’re having fun, working out with a group of people that quickly become your friends.
When you come to CrossFit Terre Haute you will lift, run, row, jump, pull, push, throw, climb and anything else we can think of. Together we sweat, we bleed, we expose weaknesses, and we get stronger…together. The community aspect of CrossFit is our greatest strength. We are supportive, we are competitive, we are strong, we are humble, we are athletes…
